A morning in my parents’ backyard birding paradise yielded
I was photographing hummingbirds at my parents’ house a few weekends ago when this House Sparrow posed nicely on the fence for me. I thought she was pretty, and she had a nice green background. Mum-mum has tons of House Sparrows visiting Missy’s Diner these days. They clean out her feeders every evening. But we try to like all birds, even the common ones!
Mum-mum and Dyeyo are enjoying the return of the warblers to their backyard. Dyeyo and I took our cameras outside this afternoon to photograph some of the customers at Missy’s Diner. The hummingbird didn’t show herself, but the sparrows sure did! I was a little concerned when I saw the pictures of this House Sparrow, who always had his eyes closed. I’m wondering if he has the eye disease like the House Finches get…or maybe I just have incredible timing when I hit the shutter button! Dyeyo’s favorites are always the bright red cardinals.
