This year our pineapple patch only yielded one pineapple. I guess it’s to be expected after the cold winter that we had. This year I made sure that I picked the pineapple before the birds got to it first. We ate it this week. It was very sweet and juicy.

If you’ve never tried growing pineapples in Florida, you should consider it. It’s quite simple. Just buy a pineapple at the store, cut the top off leaving about 1″ of fruit on the bottom, and bury that bottom 1″ in a sunny spot. Mine get very little care and they do quite well!
