We always enjoy welcoming new visitors to our backyard. Today’s wasn’t precisely in the backyard, but he sure was circling overhead.
Chimney Swift
There were two or three of these guys, circling high in the sky over the pond between Pebble Ridge and Fox Hunt. I put the camera into spot auto focus, aimed, and tried to shoot while tracking the bird. (It’s not as easy as it looks!) On the camera LCD the birds looked like dots; on the computer, blown up to 100%, I believe I’ve correctly identified Chimney Swifts. Now if they would come a little closer next time…
